REMEL LONDON

REMEL LONDON

Biography
Remel London is a UK host, radio and television presenter. Born and raised in North London, Remel has always had an interest in performing and as a child, enrolled in a number of performing arts classes.
At the age of 16, after a number of compliments and suggestions from her peers, Remel realised that her passion was actually in presenting. It wasn’t until she went to University that she began to pursue this dream.
In 2008, Remel became heavily involved with her University radio station and local radio station LSR FM where she did features on breakfast radio. After 2 years, she then gained a late night slot for her own show on LSR FM called ‘Funky Munky’. At the same time, Remel started ‘The Thursday Takeover’ show as she was offered a prime time slot on community radio station Fresh FM. This marked the beginning of Remel’s career as she used the shows as an opportunity to hone her presenting skills, interviewing known musicians such as Starboy Nathan and Tinie Tempah.
Alongside her progression in radio, Remel became a known face in the raving scene/circuit as she became the first female MC to host at weekly event ‘We Play Vinyl’.
Remel graduated from Leeds University in 2010 with a BA Hons in Broadcast Journalism and has since worked with many production companies such as AKQA working on projects for Nike and XBOX. She quickly built a name for herself, which provided her with a platform of opportunities when she finished University. Soon after her return to London, she became the face of, and lead presenter at, Link Up Tv where she found herself interviewing the likes of Wretch 32, Devlin and US rapper Mann.
Keen to get involved in numerous aspects of music and media, Remel is also an events co-ordinator working closely with Urban Development, BANG FM and I Luv Live on some of their projects, including the monthly instalment of I Luv Live’s live showcase.
Never one to be confined to just the music scene, Remel has taken her presenting skills into the sports field too. Whilst at University, Remel was the Nike Woman’s presenter for the Nike Training Club project throughout the Summer of 2009.
Remel continues to establish herself as a well respected presenter in the UK scene. She is currently working on The Remel London Show with Link Up Tv, an audio podcast entitled ‘#RateMePlz’ dedicated to UK unsigned artists and presents her own radio show on Westside FM.
Hailed by many as London’s finest and best presenter Remel London is ready to take the UK scene by storm.
“ I love my job and hope to one day be recognised as one of the UK’s best broadcasters on both National radio and International television. I pride myself in making each interview memorable and fun to watch and getting to see a different side of the person I am interviewing.”
